That may be a smart move to get ODF spec on the same level as OOXML as there would be even less reason to use OOXML in the future. This should give you a search result called: Choose whether to automatically install Windows Updates. Windows 8 (Modern Update App) Open the Start Screen and type Update. So I guess interop between recent MS Office versions and LO should be better when using ODF.Įdit: From what I see that has been added to LO recently for interop with MS Office formats this is then also added at the same time to the "ODF 1.3 Extended" spec which will be used to drive the ODF 1.4 spec (no timefrime etc yet). Enable Microsoft Update in Windows 10 to get Office updates too. To enable Windows Installer logging yourself, open the registry with Regedit. Note that Path is the full path of your Office source location. Currenly LO and MS both have implemented most of the ODF 1.3 specs already while OO still uses 1.2. In the Open box, type the following command-line, and then click OK: pathSetup.exe /Lv C:Verboselog.txt. Then also LO (so nor does OO) did not fully implement ODF 1.2. Zamzar is a great online tool for converting between many different file formats. If you don’t want to install any software on your computer at all, then you can use a free online service called Zamzar to convert MDI to PDF, TIFF and many other formats. Microsoft has been working actively on those specs amongst with TDF. Open an MDI file and then click File Save As. Dont rely on old software for important accounting functions or youll be sorry. The new versioning scheme for Windows means that with every major new release, the second of which is coming next month, the chances increase that you wont be able to get it to run at all. This has been mostly fixed in the ODF 1.3 spec as that was one of the main goals defining it. If you have to use workarounds now to get it to install, it will get worse. That is not the whole story ODF 1.2 does have some specifications which leave room for interpretation and for that reason are implemented differently (that may have been done on purpose) in MS Office vs OpenOffice/LibreOffice. Go to Uninstall Office from a PC and follow the steps to uninstall the version of Office (or stand-alone Office application, such as Visio or Project) you dont. odt, but MS, as always, has departed from the international standards"
